Tale of the GPS:
80.3 - 7.4 mpg 10 gallons used Arrived @ 1150.
We were invited to join a group of campers from the Metro Jacksonville/Coquina Crossing named the River City Campers for this weekend. The weather is a bit rough, about 59 and raining a bit, but it is supposed to be in the 80's over the weekend. We are all supposed to run out tonight to a local place for dinner, and there are some activities planned for the weekend as well. We are next door to our pals Walt and Char. Looking forward to a terrific weekend!

Safe and a bit faster trip back to Florida!
Left Greenwood pretty close to right after my last class, at about 1004, and pulled into Coquina 6 hours and 30 minutes later with a fuel stop, 2 potty/doggie pee stops, and a McDonald's eat and run. We changed up the routing to the 121 down to 16, which bypasses the Augusta traffic issues.
Total miles, 316.3 Total time driving: 5 hours 55 min. Total time, 6:30. Average speed 63 mph. Can you tell Bette drove the whole way?
Glad to be back home, but it was severely chilly and rainy today- High only about 42 or 43, but no icing and no snow. Supposed to be back in the 70's for our camping weekend.
Went to the Honda dealer today and had a $265 dollar oil change... turns out the alignment was bad, and we had to have the tires balanced again. Plus we were a little behind on a transmission flush and refill, plus the oil change and rotation. All good as new now, with 40,400 miles on the little Fit already.
Got a bad scare from the State of SC this morning, when I went and picked up the mail from the last 3 weeks, I had a bill indicating we owed 3400 of a 3800 bill from the dentist for my new 3 tooth bridge from 3 weeks ago. Turns out after I called, that they don't pay until AFTER the permanent is installed, which will be next week. Whew.
Leaving Friday morning for a spot downstate a bit to join our pals Walt and Char for a 3 day camping trip- they belong to some sort of camping club, and we were allowed to visit- may join up with them too, if we pass muster. Hopefully the weather will cooperate, Looks like a planned good time, potlucks, bingo, Super Bowl stuff, and such.
Totally satisfied with my MEDA 343 class, although it will be very labor intensive. Great bunch of kids.

Medical update
Well, let's see. I went to the eye Dr., glaucoma pressure is elevated, meaning I will have two new laser surgeries, one eye in late March, the other in mid April.
Went to Dr Perez, she did three blood tests to check against baselines, and prescribed a new medicine for my bone density issues. Still hoping to get all the way off prednisone soon.
Bette went back to knee doc this morning and got her big knee brace, still has to go in tomorrow at 8 to have her two stitches removed- then I go see the Nose Dr. tomorrow at 0830- Just in the last two days, the nose seems to have finally settled down a bit.
Monday, I went to see Dr Sindad, and got totally beat up. Turns out I had a cracked crown again, with a big fracture in the tooth, so out it came, one of my eye teeth, and a temporary three tooth bridge has been installed. He worked about 45 minutes to get the tooth out, plus doing a root canal on another one- I am and was whipped. Go back when I get back from Greenwood to have the permanent bridge installed, but at least my front teeth will be more lined up and "natural" now, having been out of alignment since I got smacked in the mouth in 8th grade by a jealous suitor over a mutual girl friend... sucker punch it was.
We are packing the car tomorrow for a three week trip up to Greenwood so I can teach my hybrid on line class at Lander- really really looking forward to that. It's a final Sr seminar class in Public Relations, and I'm grateful to be asked to teach it. Its called PR courses and campaigns.
Looking forward to quality time with the grandsons, and maybe a side trip or two if we can squeeze it in. I go back in April for three weeks also to receive and grade their final projects, plus Cooper and Brandon will be out for their spring break, and we may go somewhere with them.
Tomorrow night is Bingo night, Porter and Bill are in town, and we are hoping they will come to play.
That is all caught up.

Running right along.. to the Doctors......
At this stage in life, in Florida anyway, you have your Doctors on speed dial, and you know to get in the pre-paid lane at the Wal Mart, to avoid the long lines. I had to go yesterday to get my regular scrips refilled, and got scared pretty bad when they told me it was going to be $450 for my meds- seems the state had changed insurance carriers, and I had forgotten to have them put my new card on file. Final cost 34.50 Big difference!
Bette went back to the knee Dr this morning at 8, got the bandage off, and goes back Friday for a brace fitting and her two or so stitches out.
I went to the Dentist, and discovered I had a cracked in half crown, which means the tooth will be extracted, and he is going to make a 3 tooth bridge for the front. That was a 3000 dollar visit, time we get through.
Tomorrow is eye Dr for regular follow up, then back to the Dentist at 10 for a couple of hours, Wed is Dr Perez for RA, Friday is Dr for Bette's knee, then follow up for me with Dr for nose. Bingo Friday night.
Then, we pack up for an early Sat morning departure to Greenwood for three weeks.

Bette's operation a success!
Bette's procedure for her knee was easy-peazy. She was called in early, on the table for about 40 minutes, back home in 2 hours, and is resting comfortably on the couch with an ice pack. Dr. Grimes was pleased and said she should be good as new.
Anxiously awaiting the arrival tomorrow of our Greenwood pals Bill and Porter, they may be here as long as a couple of months this time, hoping for excursion fun, eating out fun, fishing, photo excursions, and visiting!!! We will be sadly up in Greenwood for 3 weeks so I can be professorial at Lander, and we have a 10 day trip to the Keys in there, but we will have lots of time for them.
Coldest day in 2 years this morning, temp was 35 or 36 with 20 mph winds. Ugh.
Spent a good deal of time cleaning up loose ends for Cooper's trip to California this summer, got all of the motels reserved, and now just have to do the car, and see about which ball games he wants to or not go to. Big trip, lots of running around, but totally looking forward to it.
Bette goes back to Dr Mon am, I have a dentist appt for a root canal Mon at 10, Wed is Dr Perez for my RA, Friday is back to the nose Dr., Friday night is bingo, then Saturday we are leaving for Greenwood for 3 weeks.
That is all~!
