March 31st

Big fear seems to be coming through-  Appears that Bette has shared her crud with me, despite our efforts to keep separate.  Just what I need, a week down feeling terrible or more.  Ugh.

Took Buster for his follow up Vet appt this morning, he did fine, some additional ear medicine, and more of his anti itch meds.  He seems much happier. 

Saw these plates at the Fort yesterday and in town-  busy day, beautiful day Forting-  lots of spring break families. Looks like I will be taking a break from volunteering as well-

March 28th

Nice warm Fort day today.  Lots of spring breakers, lots from Indiana today....

Bette has been quite sick since last Friday, really doesn't feel well at all.  Been ministering to her for 4 days or so.  She has 2 Drs. appts tomorrow to get fixed up.

Cooper is on spring break this week, last heard he was at the beach at Myrtle Beach with pals.
Brandon reported that he got clearance from the Doc to go back to work- and he finished rehab, so that's good too!

March 27th

Did both weekend days at the Fort since it was Easter Weekend.  Jammed!

March 24th

Did an extra day's turn at the Fort today, since it's Spring Break week- Lots and lots of visitors- and families!  lots of cute kids.

Perfect weather day today too! 

Tomorrow the Lander Softball team is playing Flagler, so I will duck the Fort for that!

March 22nd

This morning, several of the guys from the Vet's group went up to the Camp Blanding Military Museum about 50 miles up the road. 

Camp Blanding was built in 1939 with blinding speed, and served as an infantry training base for the duration, and is now a joint training base for the Florida National Guard.  Nice visit, but no pins! 

March 21st

Safely back from the annual old guy's spring training baseball trip-  We did 4 games in 4 days-
Very enjoyable trip- 

First game at Sarasota, Pirates won.

We ate at Hooters three times, actually- 

At Clearwater- Phillies won!

Tigers vs Nationals, Tigers won 8-7! 

Wore my colors for the Tigers game.

Back to normal routine today, Liar's Club in the morning, then to the Fort-  Bog mob there, Spring breakers and families!  Tomorrow, several of us are headed to Camp Blanding for a tour of a military museum.  Looking forward to that.
Bette is slowly feeling better from her tooth ordeal.  Hope she feels better soon!

March 16th

Bette is feeling quite some better today, from her teeth extraction.  Good news. 

Tomorrow, we start out on our 5th annual Old Fart's Spring Baseball trip- 7 0f us this time- Destinations are Sarasota, Clearwater, Tampa, and Lakeland.  4 games in 4 days, we head out at 1030 or so in the morning-  first time this year for a night game, the first night. 

Nice to get a bit of a  break from Forting.  Hope we don't get rained on!

March 14th

Bizzare fort day today.  Busy with visitors, spring break families, and several school groups- many of whom were totally out of control-  eating in the Fort, messing with the walls, sitting on the walls, trashing the bathrooms, and such.  Also lots of running and shouting.  We appealed to the parents, to not much avail, and I think threatened one group to leave! 

Tomorrow is a big day for Bette, she looses all of her upper teeth- I'll drive her in at 10. 

Stopped by PetSmart today to get Buster some special food, to see if we can help his itching grain free food we got.  He will also get some itch free shampoo.

March 11th

Incredibly busy day today at the Fort.  Combination of Bike Week in Daytona, plus a solid rash of 4th grader visits, many of whom were from private schools, without tour guides.  More sunburned overweight biker babes and biker guys! 

Had 5 good cannon firings today, lots of folks in the water battery. 

Bingo later tonight.  Day off tomorrow. 

March 10th

Busy day today-  went up to Ponte Vedra to the dentist to have a root canal done, wound up having two.  ugh. 

Worked the Fort yesterday, busy busy!  It's Bike Week down at Daytona, and we always have a large crowd of bikers come up the coast to visit.  Lots of overweight sunburned riders, lots of tattoos, and lots of vests with pins!

March 4th

Went to the dentist yesterday for a 3 minute check up visit-  also scheduled a root canal up in Ponte Vedra for next week. 

Had a nice easy day at the Fort-  No kids groups pretty much- 

Today, we pack for our Dallas Trip!  Off to Kelly Raffa's wedding.  Leaving out of JIA tomorrow morning.  Bette also has a dentist appt today.

March 1st

Got the call at 0315 this morning that Bette's Brother Jim died.  Thankfully it was fairly quick.
He will be cremated, and then they will send his cremains on to us.

For plates found for the month of February, found 55 of 62. Or 89%  All US but Wyoming and Hawaii, and not so much on the Canadian Provinces this time.
