April 26th Fired the cannon at the fort!

I was asked to join the cannon crew at the Fort today-  We practiced twice, then I got to be on the crew for three firings!  I actually lit the cannon.  Pretty cool!  I also drilled twice with the musket firing team, but that will take more effort.  

We fired the small cannon out on the front lawn, because the firing supervisor had hurt his knee earlier in the week, and couldn't climb the stairs to the gun deck.   

April 24th Busy day at the Fort, some new plates

Went in early at the Fort today- do I could take part in some EMT training-  then worked the regular shift-  Also working tomorrow so I can start my reenactors training.

Went to Drs. today, looks like I'll be getting an injection for my back-  they are supposed to call me-  

Will be volunteering at the fort three times this week-   Men's lunch on Thursday, Bingo on Friday night- therapy for Bette and me- Then Sunday, we're headed up to Greenwood for the week so I can close out my MEDA 343 class.  Be up there for a week or so.  Rock and roll 

April 10th Terrific day at Universal! Lots of Plates- Even a Hawaii!

Got to Universal with no issues, then I decided to join them-  Bit pricey, (600 for the 3 of us, including express passes for Tina and Cooper-  spent most of the day, walked about 6 miles, but had a great time- I rode several rides with Coop, and got soaked at the Jurassic Park ride!

Lots of plates down and back:
Even a Hawaii!  First one in almost a year.  

With these 2 plates added, I now have most of the special issue Florida plates, just need 9 more collegiate plates!

Hadn't seen a Hawaii plate since Los Angeles last June!  

Resting for the rest of today, then have to call Bingo tonight, then tomorrow, we're off to Gainesville for a baseball game, Univ of SC vs Florida Gators

Cooper and Tina arrived safely last night, and today, we went to Dunkin Doughnuts for breakfast, then brought Coop home and Tina and I went down to St George Street, the Fort and the Beach for several hours.  Tonight I'll be taping the Veteran's meeting.  Tomorrow, we are heading down to Orlando for two days- Saturday to Gainesville for a Univ of Fla/Univ of SC baseball game.
