May 30th

Early end of month report for license plates: since we are loading up the motor home tomorrow:

Good month overall, got 47 of 51 of the US, Missed Hawaii, DC, Idaho, and Utah:

Sort of OK for Canada, got 5 of 12 provinces:

The month of June should go much better:  have a major interstate trip with the grandsons, and will be doing around 3500 miles- so we should get most states and Provinces!

We spent most of the afternoon  loading up the motor home- we are planning on leaving on Wednesday morning, then Thursday morning early, we are starting the baseball trip with Cooper and Brandon.  8 major league and 2 minor league visits!!!  Plus lots of National Parks, and some fun stuff as well-  Lots of planning went into the trip, and it should be a blast!

Back from that trip on June 17, then rest a few days, then start for Maine for the summer on June 20. 

Did the Fort today, we had three cannon firings, and a special Memorial day tribute-  fun but very hot day-   then Bette and I went to pick up the motor home- All spiffed up with new paint job on top and roof was totally resealed-  should be good for the summer!

May 27th

Old man's lunch was so so We went over to the Island to Zacharias' French fries were soggy.

Did Fort today, crowded for Memorial Day weekend, saw this plate today:

Tomorrow is taking pictures for the Vet's group, then last visit to the Dentist for final installation of the two new bridges. 

May 25th

Did the Fort today-  hot and crowded!

We also got word that Tina and Tracy's birth father, Barry unexpectedly passed away in New Jersey from a heart attack.  She and Cooper are well on the way there.  Sympathies to all.

May 20th

Took a couple of days of from Fort duty- so I could get back to the dentist for bridge work.
They cancelled for Monday, and I sat in the chair for 4.5 hours on Wednesday!  Have to go back for final fittings on the 28th.

Robbie called from Ocean Grove RV, the painting is done on the coach- looks great! Now, they will do the roof reseal, fix the leak on the entrance door, and check out the sleep master bed controls- and that should be it for this season.

Baseball trip starts June 1-  Yay!

May 16th

Took a day off from Fort volunteering-  Too many days recently!

Friday night was Bingo, I called, and it was a happy birthday for Kippy Kingston! Cupcakes for all at our table!

This past Saturday oldest grandson Brandon celebrated his 20th birthday by skydiving!  Hope that's off his bucket list for now!  Good for him!

I mentioned we did the Change of Flags ceremony at the Fort Saturday, here are some additional views:

May 13th

Lots and lots of School Groups at the Fort today- typical Friday.
There was a controlled burn over on Anastasia Island today, and the fort got all smoky and hazy- we had to fire muskets instead of cannons for one of the demos-

Tonight is Bingo at the Ballroom, and I'm calling I think.
Tomorrow at the Fort is a big deal, a change of Flag Ceremony- I'll be dressing out and then we have a "saunter" downtown at 6 pm, where we walk St George Street and have our pictures taken and we talk about the history. 
Then a regular Sunday turn at the Fort- 

May 11th

Warm day at the Fort today-  lots of 4th graders. 

Saw these plates today:

Plus a SC Property Carrying Tag- no photo. 

Going out with the boys for free pie tonight, after the Vets meeting at 7. 
Got a new Greatcoat from uniform supply, since my other one was so long!  Has all the buttons too!  Next dress out is this Sat for Change of Flag Ceremony.
Also went for eye dr follow up, no issues there!..

May 9th

Did my regular Fort turns Sunday and today-  Light days pretty much both days- 

The motor home is in the shop getting the roof dressed and painted, should take most of the week, plus getting the door refitted, and the Sleep Number mattress looked after-  getting ready to head to the North on June 1st!

May 6th

Did the Fort today on a regular tour- 9-4, then came home and dressed out and helped out with the Changing of the Guard Ceremony.  Sadly, we only had 8 guys, plus a flag guy- but this time we had a drummer and piper- so it was pretty cool.

Off day tomorrow, then Fort on Sunday. 

May 4th

Total Rainout at the Fort today!  Left at 1230. 

Bette has PT tomorrow, and Dominoes tomorrow night.  Friday is another changing of the Guard Ceremony downtown at night.

May 1st

End of month Plate report:

Pretty good month!  Got 46/50 US plates, missing Alaska, Hawaii, North Dakota and Wyoming.

Got 7/12 Canadian Provinces- 

 



Did the Fort today, quiet hot day-  We shot the "grasshopper cannon" in the front yard today.  Crowds love it.
