And lastly, a 120 mile dash to Greenwood!

Here's the trip map:

Caught this marker on the way in: Near Sardis, GA.

Hit town at 1845- in time to meet Brandon at Migs for dinner, then home to unpack.......

Next to last, Screvren County and Sylvania

Just a courthouse, that's all, except for a bit of unusualness outside of town, 5 markers all in a row on Highway 301:

Over next to Statesboro and Georgia Southern....

Tried and failed to find the bookstore, they had in all blocked off!  Grrrrr.

Candler County Ga and Metter- another 21 miles

Next was another new county, Candler.  Courthouse, and three markers here-  now it's getting a bit late, about 3 pm!

Evans County and Claxton Georgia

Claxton Georgia is more famous for being the Fruitcake capitol of the world, as the Water tower says.  about 35 miles or so up to here,

What was here was a county courthouse, a couple of markers, and a stop at the Fruitcake bakery, hoping there might be a pin, but there was not one.

A drive through to Tattnall County Ga.

I actually took the wrong way on Highway 301 out of Ludowici and wound up taking back back roads over to Glenville, which is inside of Tattnall County, so it counts as a county.  I then continued on to Claxton Ga. the next stop.

12 Miles to Long County Ga and Ludowici

The last time I was in Ludowici Ga, I was hitch hiking from Savannah Ga., with Billy Arnold who was a football player at Newberry College, and we were on our way to Athens, Ga.  I spent the night in Kirby Smart's room- he was a quarterback at Ga., and has recently been named the head coach at the school, replacing Marc Ricth.  The guy we hitched a ride with was pretty drunk, and we got stopped in town.  Got taken to a Judge, who slapped a $300 fine on the guy, which was all the cash he had, and told us to drive.  Small world!  As mentioned, 12 miles to town:

First was a nice tower:

Several markers in the area as well:
The Courthouse
This was one of 2 markers about the Altahama Bridge

The other one.
This was out of town a bit.  Had to argue with the GPS on this one to return to town- it wanted to take me about 12 miles in a circle to get back to town, which was .5 miles away.  I won.
The Courthouse
Long County Marker at Courthouse
The Mural in this marker was on a building not far from the courthouse.

Then, 31 Miles to Wayne County, and Jesup Georgia

Water towers in Patterson and Screven, as well as Jesup

Wayne County Courthouse and County Marker

Marker is not in good shape......
Paterson Ga tower

A marker honoring the county's Revolutionary War participants.

Next, 20 miles to Pierce County Ga, and Blackshear

Kind of back roads on this leg

The Courthouse and the County Marker

A WWII Marker as well

Next- 26 miles to Brantley County Ga and Nahunta

Straight up US 301-

The Courthouse and the detail of the County Marker

January 9th Next- Charlton County GA.

Next was 22 miles or so up to the County Seat of Charlton County, Georgia, Folkston.   Among other things, Folkston is the gateway to the Okefenokee Swamp for which I already had a blue goose stamp for.

Only stop there was the Courthouse:  had a couple of markers there as well:

One was for Charlton County, the other was for a Roddenberry fellow, something to do with the fact that he was a revered public servant.

Also a water tower:
