My old stomping ground in DC

When I worked for the Limited Stores in Washington DC, I actually lived in four  places, A St SE, 6th St SE, and D St SE, and finally 13th St SE.

Today as I was headed over to Constitution Ave to hit the Sewall Belmont House, I crossed over to 6th street, and took a shot of my old place-  lived in the "English Garden Basement Apt of the red brick side of the duplex-  had about 600 sq feet, but was a neat place to live-  liked the location, it was all about Capitol Hill, and everything Capitol Hillian back in the day- used to see Senators walking the street, Harry Chapin would hang out when he was in town, watched Roberta Flack and Donnie Hathaway sing at a gay club up the street, and I did like DC-

Lived here in 78-80 I believe.  The guy who owned the house originally bought it for 39,000 a few years before, and did a complete rehab on it, and there were 4 units- 2 small basement apts, and then each of the others were 2 full floors with a shared back yard-  Had about 40 friends in our group, we would go out to eat every Friday night, sometimes go to New York City for the weekend, and spend time doing many of the wonderful things that DC had to offer-  Often wonder what happened to that crowd-  it was a very eclectic mix-
