We were so deep in the forest, full of warnings about ticks, and paying, so Bette decided Wal Mart was fine for us if we were going to Boondock anyway, so we left at 0700 this morning and came on over to New Carrollton Md to a big new Wal Mart, and then they said we couldn't park there- but we could park over on some other property next to them, so we did.
I blitzed Washington/suburban Maryland today, did about 14 stops, and got like 61 stamps.
Starting at 0830, visited Kenilworth Gardens, Ft Dupont, but they couldn't find their stamps, 2 locations for Anacostia Park, the HQ for National Parks East and the Roller Skating Rink, which are meccas for stamps, got like 30 there, then Fredrick Douglass, Then the National Museum of the US Navy at the Navy Yard, then the Sewall Belmont House, then the US Navy Heritage Bookstore on Penn Ave, but it was closed for renos, then Ford's Theater, then the FDR National Monument and the Martin Luther King memorial, then Dunbarton House, then the Rock House portion of Rock Creek Park, then the African American Civil War Museum.
Whew! Lots of new visits there, and revisits to a few places- I'll wind up picking up a day I had scheduled for DC pretty much, we'll see.
Rained a lot of the morning, then it cleared up- not to bad with traffic.
Now, I have most of Washington DC done.
