Sunday July 24th Too hot for baseball!

Since we didn't get home until almost midnight last night, B and I slept in until 10 this morning!  It was hot when we got up...  We headed into town, and stopped by Rosenblatt Stadium, so Brandon could pay homage to the site his Gamecocks won the National Championship in Baseball 2 years ago, then we tried to head to Werner Stadium, home of the Omaha Storm Chasers, for a baseball game.....

Got going the wrong way on I-80, so we stopped at the Western Trails Center in Council Bluffs Iowa, just across the border, and got 5 stamps there, plus 3 pins and a postcard.  Also got lots of travel information for Iowa, and a map of both Iowa and Nebraska!

We managed to finally get decent directions to Werner field, which was still totally contrary to any other directions we had received to date, and made our way to the stadium, about 15 miles away.....

Werner Field is a beautiful new stadium, this is the first year the Storm Chasers have played there.... Since it was so hot, we only stayed 3 innings... Got a ball, pin, and a gift for Tony there- Brandon got a flat hat....  As we walked up, a lady offered us two free tickets, that is the third time that has happened!

Not sure about the crowd size, but it was about half full....

Yesterday, when we were at Haymarket Field for the Lincoln Salt Dogs, the football stadium for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Memorial Stadium, was right across the street-  They have some sort of massive construction project going on, and it is supposed to take 2 years...  Lots of talk amongst the folks around us on how Nebraska will now do in the Big 10 vs the Big 12.

Realized I didn't post the photos from the Salt Dogs stadium from last night, here they are:

On the way to Yutan, Brandon and I spotted a pair of custom carriers for some big Unlimited Hydroplane boats heading down the road...  Lots of dollars tied up there, for sure.....

We got back to the coach around 330... Still hot here, about 100...  Very hard for the one air conditioner we can run with 30 amp to keep up....  For sure we now know to get 50 amp.... This coach sucks up a lot of electricity.......

Tomorrow, we're heading to a COE campground near Des Moines Iowa, for two days, and will spend one day doing the city, and getting some Silos and Smokestacks stamps...  The Iowa Cubs are not in town, hoping we can get a ball and pin anyway though.
