We gladly left Woods Landing at about 0920 this morning, and headed on I-80 East to Iowa. Definately in the heartland, 100 miles of corn fields.... Another hot day today...
We stopped and ate at a Subway we found for lunch, then made our way to the Saylorville Lake COE campground, located a little north of Des Moines, Iowa.
Wonderful campground, 50 amp, concrete pad, no water/sewer, but that's OK, we're right across from the bathroom.... $10 a night with our Senior Pass... Love it!
Bette and I ran down to Principal Park, the home of the Iowa Cubs, and got a pin and ball- the Cubs are not in town this week......
Tomorrow, we're planning on hitting a couple of sites for the Silos and Smokestack National Historical Area....
