Tuesday July 26th Silos and Smokestacks today

Today, we slept in since we didn't sleep so well last night, and then about 1230, Brandon and I headed downtown to two sites for the Silos and Smokestacks National Heritage Area in Des Moines.

first stop was the Iowa Historical Building, and it was a five star attraction!  It's along the lines of the SC State Museum in Columbia- not quite as big but it was free and had some very excellent artifacts and exhibits.  Even Brandon seemed to enjoy himself.

From there, we headed over to something called the Living Farm exhibit, and got a stamp at the visitors center.

got back to the coach about 330 after a stop at Wal Mart, so Brandon could get a new game for his X Box.....

Tomorrow, we head over to Iowa City for another Corps of Engineer campground, for two days so we can visit several Silo sites in the Cedar Rapids area, and also visit the Amana Colonies.
