Night laser show at Crazy Horse Memorial -

We went down the street for Spencer's 11th birthday party dinner at a Pizza place, which was very good pizza!

Then, we headed over to the Crazy Horse Monument, the "Other" Mt. Rushmore.  This is a private memorial to the Native Americans, that was started back in 1938, and has been under construction since.

It is pretty awesome in scale, and they do a very nice job at the complex.  It's $27 a carload to get in, and then you have a big visitors center.  We watched a movie about the project, then wandered the exhibits for an hour and a half, then watched a 45 minute light and laser show, which was well done, and fun to watch.

Pretty sure the project won't be completed in my lifetime, but they are making progress.

We got back to Hartland about 1015, and had cake and ice cream for Spencer-

Today, the kids are going to a water park for the day, and Bette and I are moving about 20 miles up the road to Hart Ranch for three days, to visit with Jerry and Judy and see the Rapid City sites-  we are going Sunday down to the Wolly Mammoth exhibit south of here-  Brandon also wants to go back and revisit Mt. Rushmore.

From there, we're heading on down to the Badlands National Park for a day and then back down to Nebraska and over to Vermillion, SD.
