Only about 248 miles and under 4 hours for today. We will be there 3 nights, then on to Descanso, Ca. for 3 weeks. They are having a heat wave there, with temps almost in the 100's. Ugh!
While in Yuma, have 3 stamp stops to make.
1:54 PM. Well, we got here, finally. had to stop at a pit stop and there was 2 oversize load trucks that were defeated by a low bridge. Poor planning on the scout car. The bridge was 14 ft 6 inches, and they were both 15 + feet. So, we had to unhook the car, wait for them to back up, and then squeezed by on the right hand side. Then, as we arrived in Yuma, the gps took us to what we thought was a closed road, then we detoured around in a housing development, then arrived at our destination, Blue Sky Ranch RV. By the way, it is HOT here!
GPS says 250.2 miles, max speed 65 mph, Mov. avg. 55 mph Total time of trip 5:47 Total mileage so far: 3264 miles. Fuel consumption 9.0 mpg, total fuel used 27 gal. Put in 27.173 gals at a Flying J at 2.979 per gallon for $76.67 on the way in Yuma.
Note the 118 for tomorrow!
Tomorrow, I have 3 stamp stops, may try for a local Nwr on Wed, then Thurs we are off to California for 9 weeks!
