First was the Bloodworth Sundries Building- The business opened in 1904 by Perry Franklin Bloodworth. He died in 1941,and his son James ran the business until his death in 1998. In 1999, the Secretary of State for Florida formally recognized "Bloodworth's" as a hisorical significant business name.
Next, the Old Perry Shoe Store: Originally a restaurant, then home to the bus station in the back of the store, and travelers dined at the restaurant waiting for the bus.......
The First United Methodist Church dates back to 1870- and is prominently located on the Main Street of town.
The Well's Jewelers Building was originally an auto garage in the back- The jewelry store came into being in the 1950's but the building was vacant today.
The Dansby building was a grocery store in the early 1900's, then it was a florist shop, then a five and dime store. Upstairs was a law office.
The Blair Building has known many tenants, Johnson's Grocery Store, Fleet's Shoe Store, the Emporium store and today, Southern Electric
