This is the R.P. Hopkins house.  This house had the north bedroom added when Mr Hopkins discovered that he could not run for City Council because his house was not located within the city limits.  The added bedroom placed him within the city limit so that he qualified to run.  Mr Hopkins was the traffic manager of the Live Oak, Perry & Gulf Railroad, and secretary of the Suwanee River Land Belt Company.
