Trip has begun!!!

We did a full day load in yesterday, and got all ready to go pretty much.

We were wheels up at 820, which was actually 40 minutes ahead of schedule!!!

The first leg was almost 200 miles over to Tallahassee to get a stamp, visit two bookstores, and the State Capitol.

WE hadn't gotten very far, when we ran into a dead stop on I-295, just below I =-10- and ran into this little incident-  Fortunately, didn't look like anyone was seriously hurt, looked like everyone was out of the three cars involved.....

We got to Tallahassee right at about noon-  and off I went.

First stop was an office building so I could get a Florida Scenic Trail Stamp from a USFS office there-  took me a bit to find the correct office, but I got the stamp ok.

Then, I got snagged- totally.  Next stop was supposed to be the bookstore for Florida A & M, so I could get a pin and maybe a baseball-  WRONG!  the store was closed at noon, even though the website said it would be open.

Then, I was trying for the bookstore at Florida State, but due to construction, another no go.  Geesh!

Then, to complete the triple skunk, I couldn't find any parking close to the Florida State Capitol, so I could get their stamp. Damn thing was a fortress!  Guess the legislators in Florida aren't overly popular. At least in SC you can park next to the Capitol!!

Got back to the motor home, hitched up, and hit the road by about 140 or so, and ambled 80 miles down the road to our stop for the night, the Wal Mart at Marianna Florida.

Nice big parking lot, far enough away from the Interstate so no road noise, it's a big SuperCenter, has a Subway, and there's a big Pilot next door.   All is good.

Running the generator as we speak, it was close to 90 today.  Bette is crapped out on the couch, been sleeping most of the day.

Tomorrow is a quick uninterupted run of about 144 miles over to Pensacola and a campground on the beach for 3 days.
