Brandon's room upstairs will get new carpet, and his bathroom will get new fixtures, and a new tile floor-and a new vanity top, and new lighting. Forgot to take pictures there.
Cooper's Wing:
For Coop's bathroom, he will get a new ceramic tile floor, a new marble vanity top, a new toilet, and repainting.
His bedroom will get new carpet, new paint, new window treatments. We can't talk him into giving up his recliner for his video game :-)
The Dining room will have all the flowerdy wall paper removed, the popcorn ceiling removed and resurfaced, and paint. Maybe a new light fixture also.
The existing laminate floor of greenish tiles will go to a multi brownish ceramic tile, we're removing all the green ivy wallpaper, replacing with a light cream paint, adding a backsplash, and adding contrasting counter tops all around. We have also picked out black appliances, but not purchased them as yet.
The mud room entrance off the garage will have the green tile laminate replaced with a brown tile, and we are leaving the wall paper- this is the one place in the house that has nice wallpaper!
We recently replaced the washer/dryer, so this will not need any upgrading.
The living room will get new carpet, all of the existing wall papers removed, the popcorn ceiling removed and repaired to smooth, and new paint.
The master bath vanity will get a new counter top, the flooring will be replaced with a marble tile, new paint, new mirror, new lighting.
The tub area will be repainted, and we are adding a backsplash around the tub. The tub is still in good enough shape as to not be replaced.
The entire bathroom will get a new floor, new paint, new lighting.
The master bedroom will get all new paint, new carpet, new window treatments.
We are currently in debate vis a vis the shower stall, current thinking is that the insert there now will come out, and a nicer tile set up may be done- still researching this. Also, a new toilet seat goes in across the room from the stall.
We are really excited to get started- Think Jimmy and the crew will be in starting a week from Monday- He seems to think he can have it all finished by Christmas.
The house is either 13 or 14 years old. We have already added the retirement cottage, which was the former detatched garage- which houses an 1100 sq foot apartment for Bette and I.
There is a hook up for the motor home, as you can see here.
We added the cover for the hot tub, which you see to the left of the picture here, just beyond the gate, and we completely rebuilt the back deck around the pool, and redecked the pool, and added a salt water system. We've also cut down several trees that were infringing around the pool area, and we were fearing them coming down in a big storm.
We felt it was time to upgrade the house interior- and are really excited to see it come together.
Last thing to do will be to replace the roof, which we think will come in a couple of years.
Bette and Tina drove over to Anderson today to go shopping, for what I have no idea-
We're 80% packed and ready to head back to St Augustine early in the morning, not looking forward to I-95 traffic- may take back roads on down to Jacksonville.
Bette may be headed to Memphis around December 8th to support Megan and Deanna while she has a visit at St Judes- still waiting to see if see will go- if that does happen, we'll just come back up to Greenwood earlier for the holidays.
Watching football most of the day- Tonight is the big game for South Carolina residents, the annual war between USC and Clemson. Also hoping Texas A & M will come through.
