We drove a few miles down the road from New Carrollton, and stopped at a centrally located Wal Mart, and I went to several stops:
Oxon Cove Park- which is also a farm- got 5 stamps there
Fort Washington Park, got 10 stamps there...Piscataway Park, got 4 stamps there,
Thomas Stone NHS, in Port Tobacco, MD, got 9 stamps there,
George Washington Birthplace NMon, in Washington's Birthplace, Va, got 6 stamps there,
then a quick run down to Westmoreland State Park and Stratford Hall, which is RE Lee's birthplace and got a stamp each for the Potomac Heritage NST.
Here is the view of the Potomac from Ft Washington, we used to live across the river at Waynewood near Mt Vernon. Never had been here...
We are rapidly making our way home- Bette should be so happy....
Tomorrow, 30 miles over to Fredricksburg for Fredricksburg/Chancellorsville, which is now a morning trip, instead of a full day, then down to Richmond.
Probably spend a day and night in Richmond to get all I have to get there, Richmond NBP, Maggie Walker, and Petersburg Battlefields, then its on down to Jamestown/Williamsburg.
