Terrific Friday, Late night.

Day went pretty much as planned, got to most of what we wanted, experienced massive DC traffic, and had a great, but long long day!

Started out by getting down to Herndon to the customer service center for Virginia Easy Pass, then discovered I forgot my binder with the information in it, grrrrr.  Then, I was sure I had locked my keys in the car, (I didn't) and the day was getting off to a bad start- oh, and the GPS took us to the wrong building- but anyway, we were successful there, and now we have 2 shiny new EZ Passes, which aren't "legal" until tomorrow outside of Virginia, which is fine, since we don't leave until Monday anyway.  They are "legal in Virginia today, which is also great, because we are headed back down to about 10.00 worth of tolls today.

EZ Pass-  Check.

Next, we added a stop, Wolf Trap Center for the Performing Arts and after a bit of trouble, got a stamp there- the ranger station was closed, but we found a guy in an office (house) behind the Ranger station, and got a stamp.
Then, we headed over to the George Washington Parkway, and got to the Turkey Run Headquarters, which is the mecca for Passport Stamp Collectors, they had 34 different stamps there!  So in the last three days, we have picked up nearly 85 stamps.
Then, we ran over to the Claude Moore Colonial Farm, which is part of the Parkway, and got a stamp there.

Then, we headed across the Beltway just into Maryland, and got to the Clara Barton NHS, a beautiful old home honoring the lady, got 3 stamps there....
Then, for a bonus, we headed 3 minutes next door to the Glen Echo Park portion, and got 4 stamps there.  I remember being taken to Glen Echo a time or two back in 1950 when we were stationed in Washington-  The park is a shadow of its old self, but is preserved.

Then, we had a notion we might try for Price William Park, but we ran into totally horrendous traffic on 495 and then 95, crawling along at 20 mph for several miles, the radio said it was just about an 80 mile backup all the way to Fredericksburg, what a disaster!

We bagged Prince William, and did get to Woodbridge Va for the Potomac Nationals doubleheader.  Cooper set a personal record tonight by getting 11 baseballs!!!!
The Nationals won both games from the Salem Red Sox- Jackie Bradley Jr did not get a hit all night!

We got back to Brunswick at 1230 am.

Due to that, we adjusted our schedule back for today-  Cooper is still sleeping at 1015 as I write this!

Today, we are going to a C & O Canal stop at Ferry Hill, Antietam Battlefield, Manassas Battlefield, and if traffic permits, Prince William Forest, then we have another double header game at Potomac.

Tomorrow is Baltimore and the Orioles!
