I got all three stamps for this location, and we enjoyed the museum exhibits-
The McClean House, where the treaty was actually signed |
From here, we drove over to downtown Lynchburg to visit Lynchburg City Park, home of the Lynchburg Hillcats, the High A team for the Atlanta Braves. The team was out of town playing Myrtle Beach, but they were very accomodating and opened the team store for us. Got a ball and pin.
Our stay here in Lynchburg/Gladys is now complete, we got to most sites we wanted and planned to, missed one or two- but we saw lots of things. Successful stamp visits, and two baseball venues.
Tomorrow, we are heading up US 29 to Charlottesville, Va, then over on I-64 to I-81, where we will pull off at Middleburg area for a visit to Cedar Creek and Belle Grove NP, and then we will roll into Brunswick, Maryland, where we will be for 6 nights. We also will be at a Frederick Keys ballgame tomorrow night.
After that, we have 5 full days of the Maryland National Parks and ballfields, a trip to Washington DC on the MARC train, and a run over to Baltimore to see the Orioles play on Sunday. Woot Woot!!
