Day 27 Ft Davis National Park and Davis Mtns

Got an early start from El Paso, actually at 0615, and headed down I-10 to Van Horn, then fueled up and headed down US 90 down to towards Fort Davis.
For the day, it was 228 miles, 7.8 mpg, used 28 gallons of fuel.

We stayed at Davis Mountains State Park, which was a very nice full hook up for $20.00-

Good power, good water pressure, only bad thing was spotty or no air reception for phone or mifi.  Had to drive 5 miles into town to get a phone signal.....

There is a scenic drive which climbed the mountain that is behind us in the photo, and it was very nice, but very windy- the winds were gusting up to 40 mph most of the day..

This was from the Davis Mtns Website....

After we set up- I headed over to the Ft Davis National Historical Site- and I'll blog on that over at the National Park blog site.

We finished up about 3 pm for the day, and then crashed, since we had an early start.  Tomorrow is down to Terlingua and the Big Bend National Park.
