What a super day today!! First, Bette and I went on a shopping excursion downtown, and toured the shops but didn't buy anything- even went to a couple of boot stores- but don't think I'm in the market for $400 dollar boots....
On our way back, we passed the incoming coach of our travel buddies from Coquina Crossing, Judy and Jerry, as they were making their way to Absoroka for a rondevouze, so we hustled back and got them sort of settled into the space right next to us! Much hugs and handshakes- we hadn't seen them since February when we visited out in California when we went to see Mom Zona.......
Well, we let them get set up and now it was after 1, so we headed into town for lunch- wound up at the old Buffalo Bill Cody hotel, the Alma Hotel, and ate outside on the porch....
Everyone had a yummy lunch, and we of course drove the waitresses batty, including one from Russia who sort of didn't get Jerry and My's humor, and we got a big pay back I guess, since as we were leaving, the other side of the picnic table we were eating at got up to leave, and Jerry and I tumbled over backwards with the table falling on top of us, since I guess our combined weight was too much out of balance. We got a nice ovation from the rest of the crowd on the porch. I passed my hat, but didn't get any change. Jerry said we would be doing another performance in 15 minutes.
At 7 pm, we headed back downtown so we all could go to the Cody Nite Rodeo- which we had planned.... we also were joined by our new friends next door, Rich, Bev, and their three beautiful grandchildren, Spencer, Baylee, and Rhyan.. not sure I spelled it right....
The Rodeo is a very well done set up in a beautiful venue....
There was a pretty fair crowd there, from all over the US and foreign countries.
The next door kids, who are from Arizona, had their picture taken on a bull and with the rodeo clown.....
Couldn't talk Brandon into posing, of course....
The Rodeo itself was a full event, sadly, didn't see many qualified rides for the night, but we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves...
It was Rich's birthday yesterday, so we all gathered in our coach for a surprise cake and well wishes.... We were all having such a good time, no one realized it was after midnight before we said our goodbyes!!!
We made plans to join up with everyone again up in South Dakota next week.
This morning, we're going to head into town for breakfast, and then this afternoon, we're joining Jerry and Judy for a visit with a couple they know here in town for the afternoon. Ought to be a super day!
Monday, we're going to run up to Lovell to Big Horn National Recreation Area, and then at night, I'm taking the kid bunch back out to see Transformers...
