Monday July 11th Busy Busy busy!

We've really been on the run over the weekend, lunches, dinners, visits to new friends, a trip over to Bighorn Canyon Recreation Area, and other running around....

We were lucky enough to be able to join Jerry and Judy for a visit with local friends of theirs, Paul and Bonnie, who have a home here that they visit seasonally.  It is a marvelous home, and we were made to feel totally welcome. 

Our hosts...  they also live in the California desert, and maintain a home in Chicago.

This is a statue they had commissioned on the property- as you can see, they are right on the beautiful Shoshone River, which was flowing quite rapidly.

Today, we split up the men drove up to Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area, and enjoyed the fabulous views.....

 This is called the Devil's Canyon Overlook at the park.  

The girls went shopping...  We had our next door neighbor come over and make a field repair to our VCR, and then I took all the assorted kids to see Transformers, while we parents went out to a delicious dinner at the Irma Hotel. 

Tomorrow, we're joining everyone for a farewell breakfast, then heading over to a local Japanese Interment camp over towards Powell, Wyoming...
