Thursday June 9- Twin Falls, Hagerman, Boise Idaho

Got up at 7, due to the chill in the air, and buttoned up and were on the road by 815 or so, up I-84 to Hagerman Idaho, which is the site of the Hagerman Fossil Bed National Monument, and a display as well for the Minedoka Interment National Historical Site as well.
It was only about 40 miles or so up to Hagerman.  The visitors center is downtown, and we watched a movie that explained the area and how it came to be.

At the Hagerman VC, there is a display for the Minedoka Interment site, which is actually near Jermome Idaho, a few miles away.  I thought originally the Minedoka site was not open due to construction, but my information was incorrect.... nuts.  Have to try to get there another time...  But we did get the stamp for this site, and since the display was there, it counts as a visit, I reckon.

From there, we headed up to Boise, another 85 miles or so up the road... We stopped at a Wal Mart, did a load of provisions, then Brandon and I went to downtown and visited the campus of Boise State University, home of the Broncos....  they are famous for their blue smurf playing field, and the fact that they have one of the smallest stadiums of any major team in 1-A.  Only seats 30 or 35 thousand..  They have a beautiful athletic museum right at the stadium, and you can walk out on a patio and see the field.

We finished that tour, then ran on over to Memorial Stadium, home of the Boise Hawks Short season baseball team.  I was able to get a ball, but the pins weren't in yet.. but I got a promise from the very nice young woman who was in charge and she says for sure I'll get a pin sent off to me.  Here's an aerial of the Stadium courtesy of Google Earth

After our visit to the stadium, we headed back to Wal Mart, and gathered up Bette and headed 9 miles back down the Interstate to our spot for the night, Cummins Onan Rocky Mountain.  We have a spot with 50 amps, no water, no sewer, but its free.  Tomorrow morning we have an appointment at 8 am to have the generator serviced.

Then, while the coach is being serviced, Brandon and I may run out to a couple of spots in town, and then we did another major trip change, tomorrow when the coach is ready, which I'm thinking will be around 10 in the morning, we plan to head up to McCall, Idaho, to a very beautiful Idaho State campground and stay for two nights- then Sunday, we are due at Kamiah, Idaho for three nights, so we can do the Nez Perce area of the state.
