Got up fairly early this morning, and were on the way by 815- Just about 90 miles up the way to Cabela's south of Salt Lake City... thought we would spend the night there, but the parking lot wasn't level!
While Bette got the coach ready for Brandon's arrival tomorrow, I ran up the road to Timpanagos Cave National Park, located about 12 miles off I-15.
Got the park stamp, a pin, and the 25th Anniversary Stamp here also-
After that, I drove back to Bette at Cabelas, and we agreed to pull up stakes and head to a Flying J that looked to be fairly close to the airport. We had planned to park there Saturday morning, so we could fetch Brandon, so we decided to go ahead and move on up. Got a nice space, not quiet yet, since there is a lot of construction going on, but it will be fine for the night. Just 7 miles from the airport....
After we got settled, I ran downtown and picked up 4 Stamps at the NPS trail office in Downtown SLC, and then stopped by a big mall, so I could get a ball and pin for the Salt Lake City Bees, since they were out of town, but they didn't have any... Rats. Their gift shop isn't open when the team is not in town either. Total frustration.
Went on back to the Flying J and vegged out.
Tomorrow, we'll have the motor home washed all spic and span over across the street at the Blue Beacon truck wash, and then we'll head on over to the airport and fetch Brandon. He's due in at 455 pm.
Then, we'll run back here to the Flying J, grab dinner at Denny's, then head 85 miles up the road to Garland Utah, our next stop for two days. On Sunday, we head over to Golden Spike National Historical Site.
