Sunday May 22- Rocky Mountain National Park- WOW!

Since we decided to not camp at Rocky Mountain NP, since it was Memorial Day weekend and we could not be sure of what we might be able to find or not find, we extended our stay here in Monument.  That meant to see the park, we needed to drive a ways, which we did today... No worries, this by far was the prettiest park we have seen yet.  Long day, about 275 miles of driving all told, but the scenery was totally worth it:

Bette took this shot from the Morraine VC- Best shot of the trip so far!

This is the view of the park as you come into Estes Park...  the best is yet to come!

This is the Fall River, which runs for many miles alongside of US 36, the main road to the park.

I originally labeled these as "Elkettes", but it seems they may be Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheepettes...  Have to get an expert to say for sure...  Bette and I spied them along the road in the park, munching away, didn't see the Alpha Male around.

Probably do local stuff tomorrow, and do some further planning for Brandon's portion of the visit.. He arrives in 13 more days!
