Today, we just sortof vegged out, to keep a restful pace for the week....
Woke up to fairly brilliant sunshine for the first time in several days, but not to worry, just a half hour ago, we got pelted by a hail storm- no damage that we can see, then a heavy rain shower, and it's supposed to be near freezing again tonight... Yikes!
We headed down the road 10 miles to a big shopping mall area, and got the oil changed in the car at Jiffy Lube, then went to Sears in the mall, to see if we could find a charger for our old drill (not), then walked the mall, and decided to eat at Chick Fil A, then back to the camper to crash.
Did some trip planning for the rest of our stay, looks like tomorrow is a big flea market here in Colo Springs, then a visit to downtown old Monument for a shopping tour... Sunday, the weather is supposed to be the best in the last week and a half, so we're off to Boulder and Rocky Mountain National Park.
Monday, a big loop trip out to Georgetown, Leadville and Fairplay in the mountains, Tuesday, over back to Denver for in town stuff, and then a rest day Wednesday, and we leave Monument on Thursday morning.
Looks like now we'll head to either Estes Park, Loveland, Greeley, or Ft Collins so I can get some stamps, then boondock, then head up Saturday to Cheyenne Wyoming.
Heard from Grandson Cooper and Tina that they got to New Jersey safely - missed a connecting flight from Philly, and got picked up in Philly so they were good to go. They are up there for a wedding....
Bette went on a cleaning/reorganizing frenzy this afternoon, and the kitchen area is now all spiffy and arranged and lots of old stuff got thrown out. Yea!
Very cloudy out, heaters going, hope for sunshine tomorrow....
Here's a stray shot of what we've been up to this week:
The "balancing rock" at Garden of the Gods, near Colorado Springs, Colorado.
