As promised, we are now getting rain, and the weather radio is blaring all sorts of tornado warnings, watches, thunderstorm warnings, and such. The actual messages are confusing, one minute were under severe thunderstorm watch, then they are sayin a tornado has hit somewhere near, and so on. It's raining faily steady, but the winds are not so much right now. According to the map which is dated at 1 AM, (it's actually 12:51) that the storm is two counties away from us. We just heard what we took to be tornado sirens go off about 5 minutes ago, but they have stopped.
Very confusing. just heard a clap of thunder, but just one. They just announced that the tornado warning for our county has been cancelled, I think..
They changed the forecast totally for tomorrow to this:
Tomorrow: Variable clouds with strong thunderstorms. Damaging winds, large hail, and possibly a tornado with some storms. High 79F. Winds S at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 70%. Before that, they said the storms wouldn't be here until the next day.
Guess we'll go back to sleep with one eye open. We closed the slide, for sure.
