After being on the road for 2.5 hours, on twisty turny back roads, trying to get back to US Highway 60, we were stopped at a stop sign in beautiful downtown Milburn Kentucky, population not much. Luckily, I rolled the stop sign a little, because just as I pulled into the next lane, the motor home's acceleration just completely stopped. Push the gas pedal, nothing.
I had visions of fuel injector problems, which my buddy TC has experienced, but I remembered he said that the power loss was gradual first.
Happily, we were able to coast into the parking lot of the D & D gas station/grille, just off the road.
I called the International Help number and was referred to a place in Paducah, so I called them, and George was very helpful- he thinks its an accelerator sensor, a part that can be installed where we sit. Problem is, he's just a parts guy- so he referred me to the next local International Dealer, which is in Murray Kentucky, about 50-60 miles away. He called, and said he would get back to me in an hour or so.
In the meantime, George called back - he is a very customer oriented person, and said he might run a service tech down to at least read the codes to see what the specific problem may be. That would be a big help. He said the International guy thinks it may be something else.....
So, we're here for the time being- The store had a coffee machine, so got a big cup- Part of being on the road....
