Tales of the tape for 2010---

Did a quick set of calculations for this years travel:

Total days out: 119
Total nights at Thousand Trails: 56
Total Wal Mart Nights 3
Total Nights- "Other"  60

Total Camping Expenditures: $880
Avg. Nightly Expendure for Camping:  $13.96

Rough estimate of Miles Traveled:  8945

Happily, our main trip portion this year was with our Aussie Pals, the Hartmans- we left Florida April 29th, and they were with us until May 14th I think-  We did Savannah, Wilmington (thanks Mary Alice and Skip!), the Outer Banks, Washington DC, and a lot of New England with them.  Hopefully, they got to see what they wanted, and I suppose a thing or two they didn't! :-)
We hung out at Moody Beach after they headed out, then up to Bar Harbor, then back down to the Cape Cod area, then worked our way back down to Florida via Greenwood.  We also took some mini trips this year, a very nice one to the Tennessee Mountains, and we flew to California in February for our annual visit.

Maine remains our all time favorite place to visit, we really got to see lots of it this summer, and we have decided to head back to that area one more time this next trip.
This year's trip will center around National Parks and Baseball fields selfishly for me, and I'll be looking for other pretty scenery and craft shops for Bette of course.  As of now, we're planning to head out about 15 April, to spend the week with the boys somewhere on their spring break if they don't come down to Florida, and then we'll head up to North Carolina, do lots of Virginia, then up to Pennsylvania, then over to Ohio to see Aunt Skip, then up around New York State to Burlington, Vermont, then around Vermont and New Hampshire, over to Maine for a couple of weeks, then down to Cape Cod again, then down to the metro DC and Baltimore area by the first week of August for my annual convention of my National Parks Travel Group, then head back to Florida via the Outer Banks and Greenwood, planning to get there the week after Labor Day.  Looking forward to the trip-  In 2012, we'll be doing the Pacific Northwest one way or the other, if we don't motor home, maybe a fly/drive or a train/drive.  We'll see.
