As we come to the end of the travel year, time for some stats- this year was a good year for National Parks and baseball fields, for sure.
As for as National Parks, I believe the number is 55. A couple of them were revisits, but most were first time locations. The most was the South East, with 31, the North Atlantic with 17, 6 in the Mid Atlantic region, and 1 out in the Western Region, when I visited my mom out in San Diego. This year, it looks like I will do over 100 parks, if I hit all that I have planned. There will be several in the San Francisco/Los Angeles area when we head out there in February, and then we will do the rest on our regular motor home tour starting in Mid April through September. The highlight will be the annual conference of my new group, the National Park Travelers Club, which will be in Washington DC in August. I can get about 70 stamps there alone!!
As far as baseball stops, the unofficial number here is 20 parks visited, and a couple of drive bys. I think I am now up to 53 teams there. This next year will be a very busy one, I have lots and lots of visits planned. I'll be starting off in California in February, then be visiting several Florida locations for spring training, then I have lots scheduled on the big trip from April to September.
