This is the actual home of the President, he lived here from 1858-1870. His father was a well to do Presbyterian minister at a big church across the street. This was a nice home, 10 rooms, and a big carraige house and kitchen room in the back-
This is the house next door, which belonged to the father of one of the Presidents long time pals, Joseph Lamar. He went on to be appointed to the Supreme Court by President Taft. This was also a parsonage. Very well to do part of Augusta, obviously.
The plaque outside of the Wilson home.
And outside the Lamar house. There was a very knowledgeable docent who did the tour, and it lasted about 45 minutes. Didn't have a pin, but we did get a magnet and postcards.
