Lizzie Borden House, but NO museum!

After visiting Battleship Cove, headed a few blocks uptown to what was supposed to be the "Lizzie Borden House and Museum." Well, the house is there, but its a bed and breakfast, didn't see a sign of any museum. And there was no parking close by, so we did a drive by. Ms Borden, you will remember, was aquitted in the brutal axe murders of her father and step mother in the home way back in 1892 or so.

The house is the museum. Parking is right behind the house and all up and down Second Street, a parking garage is at the bottom of the hill. The barn contains the gift shop where films and books and other Borden-related material may be purchased. Guided tours are daily 11- 3 p.m. It is also possible to stay overnight with breakfast and an extended house tour and case discussion at 8 p.m. Sorry you missed this.

You missed a fantastic time if you just drove by. There is no museum per se. Except the whole house is done to reflect the Victorian era and is set up exactly the way it was when someone snuck in and killed Lizzie's parents. The experience is phenomenal and the staff make it fun.
