Terrific day until the end.....my bad

We got an early start from Wilmington, at 0600 this morning, we allowed 3 hours to get to the ferry docks at Cedar Island, which turned out to be a good thing- we got there in plenty of time to wait for the ferry. Had a very nice 2.5 hour ride over to Ocracoke, then stopped and got a Passport stamp and pin for the Ocracoke Lighthouse, then drove 14 miles to the end of Ocracoke Island, and caught a free ferry over to Cape Hatteras. That was a 40 minute ride. Then we drove about 50 miles to our campground for the next 2 nights, which is called Camp Hatteras. Nice concrete pad, right on the ocean, good to go. Except that I took a wrong turn into to what I thought was the campground entrance, and wound up getting stuck for the second or third time since I've been RV'ing, had to drop the Malibu and back out. Big fight-
The Hartmans are having a date night tonight, they headed out to find a motel, supposed to be one within a mile of us- and then they were heading out for dinner. We're eating in tonight, and crashing, since we've had a long day.

Tomorrow, we're going to "do the OBX", which includes a light house or two, the lifesaving station, Kitty Hawk, Rodanthe, and the Wright Brothers NM. Should be a nice day- it's windy right now, hope that dies down.

Hummm, a big fight over having to drop the Malibu... that makes sense to me. :)) Good luck with the winds dying down... they howled here today!
