Left on time this morning at 0700, hoping we could get to Newburgh, NY, which we did, actually. 430 miles, about 8 hours of driving. Had troubles doing lunch, pulled into Dunkin Doughnuts with no room for the coach, then just as we were ending the day, a massive miscommunication took place, and we had to ride 16 miles up the NY Thruway, and then back down, since the exit I took in error was an on ramp to the Thruway. Lost a half hour, $6 in tolls, and a loss of manhood on that one.
Saw one accident today, no PIs I would say, but a bashed in trunk for one car. Lots of serious back ups southbound due to construction, including one 10 mile rolling back up. Saw at least two other similar ones. Note to self, don't come home this way.
Anyway, here we are- in the parking lot of a Howard Johnson's= good enough for the night. Lots of road noise, as we are beside the thruway. We had dinner at a diner tonight, grilled chicken breast for me- had to halve it for my portion control.
Today was a pure travel day, we stopped at a Michaels and a Barnes and Noble after dinner, but no purchases were made.
Tomorrow, we aim to hit Meredith NH for a couple of days to rummage around and then to Maine on Saturday, looks like.
