Trip to Newberry, Hornets loose a tough one, allergies!

After going to Cooper's grandparents day this morning, late this afternoon we headed over to Newberry to attend the viewing of a long standing friend, Ms Linda Bedenbaugh. We met Dave Hamm for dinner at Meigs, and spent over an hour catching up and laughing about times, old and new, great sitting down and chatting old bud. His son and our oldest grandson, Dalton are scheduled to join the Marine Corps next spring, possibly at the same time. Have to wait and see. Saw perhaps five or ten other folks we knew, a couple of former students, and lastly, got to chat for several minutes with SC Rep. Walt McCloud, who has my highest respect as a principled and role model for a public service. He was gracious enough to speak to us for several minutes. Wish he would run for higher office one day!
Got home a little late, for us, about 9:30, Bette and I both don't like driving in the dark! Got safely home, though.
Had to wait until almost 11 to learn that my Ware Shoals Hornets Hornets lost tonight 14-6 to Pendleton, a larger school. That makes us 1-2 for the year, a mirror of last year's record. It gets no easier next week, as we play AA Emerald here in Greenwood next week. Emerald got beaten pretty badly tonight so they may be pretty angry next week.
Lastly, I seem to have developed some allergic reaction to something in the last couple of days. I've heard of fall allergies before, and not had the problem that I remember, but boy I have it now- Itchy eyes, runny nose, sneezing, but no fever.
Dealing with it so far.
Eye seem to be moving along to recovery, there seems to be some swelling of some sort, the eye feels "heavy". Also, apparently the lens on this eye has been set for "near" vision, instead of "far" vision, which is taking some getting used to. Also, its pretty clear I'll have to use reading glasses, which we originally hoped we might not need. No problem, I'm happy to not have to wear glasses for far vision at least!
Tomorrow, we're going to take photos at a very small wedding up the street, and try to get in some college football. Also hoping to join the boys and Tina and Tony for breakfast out.
