July 29th Off to Portland today

Today was for Portland, Maine.  Terrific visit today!  Started out in a big rainstorm, but it cleared up!  Saw several markers, several National Register Sites, and visited the Osher Map Library, and the University of Southern Maine as well.

One stop was the Old Eastern Cemetery, which dates from 1668 or so....

Found a new marker as well:

Another spot was on the Eastern Promenade, at a beautiful spot named Fort Allen:

Any number of beautiful old houses in the area!

Still have some Portland sights to see, will have to make at least one more return trip.
