Got up early, rode 32 miles down to Southwest Harbor, got on the Cranberry Isle Ferry, at 10, then headed over to Islesford (Little Cranberry) island, arriving at 11- Had 3 hours to kill on the island, since the boat had to leave, got the last stamp I needed for Acadia, at the Islesford Historical Museum.
I passed the time talking with Bill the local lobsterman, who was taking the day off from fishing and working on his traps. Had a wonderful conversation about lobstering in general- learned a lot!
On the way back, sat next to a gentleman and his wife, turned out they were residents of Beaufort SC! He was a retired Episcopalian Minister, who knew Billy Keyserling- small world!
Got back just ahead of the rain that has now come with vengeance. Really raining hard and blowing as we write this---
In other news, we made an executive decision today to get back to here in Sullivan 1 day early from Lubec, so Buster can revisit the vet to make sure he is on the mend. He's got a bad ear infection, and the Vet said it was a real hard one to treat. He's been a bit miserable the last week or so.
I'm also rethinking a bit about the time we spend in Lubec to cut down a bit and not revisit so many places we've already been to.
