Fun, but a bit frustrating.....
Here is where we thought we would go today:
With these stops:
It winds up we ran afoul of closings and road construction:
The Newcomer House was not open, we knew that- the Pry House was closed, didn't read closely enough about that- Antietam main VC was open- Got 2 new for me stamps there-
Then on down to Harpers Ferry- New visit for me to the Interpretive Center, and a new stamp there:
Revisit to the Mather Center:
Went right by the Appalachian Trail Center Office, and forgot two bonus stamps there
Then to the Downtown Information Center, 7 stamps there, then to Cavalier Center, 5 stamps there, then tried to get to the Convention and Visitor's Bureau Building, but the road was blocked, then the stupid GPS took us on a wild goose chase out in the country- GRRRRR.
Decided to stop for lunch at a very nice pizza place in town-
Luke and Melia split a pizza, and Cameron and I had subs- really very nice- then we did make our way up to the CVB office, then on down to Brunswick, only to find it closed until Friday!
Got ourselves back to Greencastle, rested a minute, then over to see Melia and Cameron's new house, which is cute as a button, with 16 acres, and a terrific shop building and another outbuilding as well- Sweet!
Then to Hobby Lobby for some wedding shopping, then to Rikko's Japanese Steak House for dinner, well done!
Then back to the house for one of Bette's desserts, then to the coach to load up stamps and do the blog.
I was going to hit two parks tomorrow, but think instead Jeff and I will head up to Carlisle Pa and visit the War Museum at the war College there.
Then Thursday morning we are off to Maine-
