Did a shade over 260 miles today, left Coquina about 730- stopped in at the state line for McDonald's, then up to the Mighty 8th Air Force Museum in Pooler, Georgia, just off the interstate near Savannah.
Wonderful museum, of course in honor of the 8th Air Force- 9.00 to tour, they have some very well done exhibits, and about a hundred or so markers and memorials- so I had my hands full documenting them. I'll post photos and descriptions after a massive editing job.
Then, we headed out to Tybee Island, where we got to the Lighthouse and some markers, and we ate lunch at a Blimpies.
Then, over to Ft. Pulaski National Monument- for a revisit- Got 4 stamps there.
Then, up to the Savannah National Wildlife Preserve, so I could pick up two missing Blue Goose stamps from my last visit-
Then, we cruised on to Beaufort, where we are at the Econo Lodge. This is a double graduation week at Parris Island, so the city and the motels are totally jammed.
First up tomorrow is a dinner and low country shrimp boil out at the Air Station.
Much more later.
