641 Pine Street- Captain W.J. Hillman built this Victorian home for his sister-in-law Rose Hunter. Hillman invested in timber, newspapers, and banking. He also owned the Suwanee Hotel from the late 1800's until his death in 1931. He served as the first chairman of the Florida Roads Department. It seems that he was a Captain of Armed Guards or perhaps over a convict camp. Maybe he was an early chain gang person?
