Sunday July 21- Supposed to rest, but what the heck

Today I had scheduled as a rest day, but we got to our campsite at Hamlin Beach State Park by 11 or so-  Nice park, new strong 50 amp service, no water, right next to the bathroom, in a tight but ok space-  Surprisingly, we got TV too!  They totally gave us the third degree coming in, we almost didn't stay-   they demanded a rabies proof for Buster-  never said that was needed on the website, or on the registration,  man-  they only let pets in certain loops, and lots of rules too.  Lots of police, not rangers patrolling.  The place was totally jammed as it is every weekend they said, but has really cleared out this afternoon.  It is right on Lake Ontario, and the weather today has been totally delightful-  high was only like 74.  Finally a break from the heat!  May be down to 61 tonight!!

I had the notion that I would do one Erie Canal site today, just because it was close-  Spencer Port.  Well, I called another location to see if was going to be open tomorrow, and they guy said he would agree to meet me today in downtown Rochester-  special deal, special case, so off I went- then I checked, and decided to just go ahead and do the rest of my planned stops for tomorrow, since it was only about a 30 mile loop-  So off I went.

I got to five locations, including and attempt at a baseball stop for the AAA Rochester Red Wings- but they were closed.   I did get stamps at three of the five locations I went to, two of them couldn't find the stamp, or rather one couldn't find it, and at Spencer Port, the stamp was locked up in a closet and no one had the key.

I did get stamps at the Rochester Science Museum, the Mary Jemison Boat, and the AAKABBA Underground Railroad Tour.

I struck out at the Sam Patch Boat, the young lady couldn't find it-  As I mentioned, at Spencer Port, the stamp was locked up in a closet and no one had the key.  Since they have goofy hours, I will have to get them to mail me an impression-  I'll call into Sam Patch tomorrow and see if they found it-

The team store for the Red Wings opens at 10 tomorrow, so I'll  stop there and get a ball and pin.

Plan then would be to be back to the coach by about 11 and then head directly to the Women's Rights NHS in Seneca Falls NY, then to Auburn NY for the Auburn Doubleday's baseball visit if they are open.   If we can be ahead of schedule, I'll head on as close to Syracuse as we can, if not we plan to stay in Auburn at Camp Wal Mart.

This was the view of downtown Rochester from the Jemison boat-
