Nice day in Springfield

Springfield Ill was about 2 hours away- over back country roads and then Interstate 55.

First stop was Lincoln Home NHS -  Park number 259 of 401.

Got three stamps here, didn't find the 25th or the State Capitol Stamp


To fix that problem, I headed on over to the State Capitol and secured the stamp there in the rotunda.  That is now 4 state capitols on this trip- 

Then, a short trip over to the Lincoln Tomb State Park site-  Very impressive for sure. The country spared no expense here..... 

 

 

Then, 2 hours back, with a stop at Wal Mart for milk and stuff, back in by about 430. 

Tomorrow is a run of about 225 miles, with stops at Vincennes, In. for the George Rogers Clark NHS, to Evansville Indiana for a baseball stop, then Lincoln City Indiana for Lincoln Boyhood NHS, then over to a Wal Mart at New Albany Indiana, next to Louisville Kentucky.
