I started off today with a change to the planned schedule, deciding to first visit the Washington Wild Things baseball field for a ball and pin, and got them.
Next, I got down to downtown Pittsburgh, and got to the Fort Pitt location for the Potomac Heritage stamp.
I had to park in a public parking lot, and it cost $13.00, so I asked at the Museum if PNC park was within walking distance, and the cashier said it was- so off I went- turned out to be quite a stroll, over a river, and down about 1/2 mile, but I found an open team store and got a ball and pin, plus got to see the stadium- Major League baseball is on All Star break just now, and I am watching the game as I type this.....

| You could also see Heinz Field, home of the Steelers, from the bridge walk |
Then, a short trip up the road to the Battle of Homestead site, which I was warned may not be open, and sure enough, it wasn't. 0 for 2.
Then, I headed back to the Wal Mart, got hooked up and headed on down to Friendship Hill site in New Geneva Pa. This was about an hour over very rural roads, but I was glad I made the trip- This was the home of Albert Gallatin, an early patriot.
Then, a quick trip down the road over terrible twisting turning roads to Fort Necessity National Battlefield, got there 15 minutes before it closed, and just managed to get my stamps and pins.
Then, another 16 miles or so, to our home for 2 nights, Outflow Campground near Confluence, Pa. It's a rural campground, but nice flat site, good tv, 50 amp, and right next door to the bathhouse. We've got some very nice neighbors, and resting up.
Tomorrow is a local run to several stops, most importantly the Flight 93 Memorial up at Shanksville Pa.
