Fun fishing trip!

Yesterday, under threatening skies, Steve, his grandson Elliott and I headed out on the lake in search of a lunker or two- and we found two good ones!

Steve, who is a registered Maine guide, and really knows his stuff on this lake, set out 6 rigs 5 for Lakers, and one for Salmon- we were fishing in waters about 60-90 feet deep at 10 foot intervals, using lures, with the exception of one outfit rigged with a bait fish that was well, preserved...

Being the guest I guess has its privileges, since I got the honor of first up- and it turned out to be the big one for the day-  about 24 inches, and something over 4 pounds-  nice fish, Steve said.

This was a big hungry boy, look what he did to the bait fish!  Steve said he was about 10-15 year old fish.

An hour or so later, Elliott was up, and he landed a slightly smaller, but still impressive youngster of about 19 inches.  Both went back in the lake for future anglers.

The rain held off for all day, and it was warm enough not to be disrupting. Great day!
