Surprise bonus visit- Old State Capitol Museum downtown Jackson

This building was completed in 1839.  It served as the statehouse until a newer, larger one was built a few blocks away in 1903.  This was a wonderfully restored building, and the tour was free, and self-guided.  

 
Then, right down the street to the "real" capitol.
