In at Bayou Segrette at New Orleans

Nice short drive over to Metro New Orleans, 99 miles or so to Bayou Segrette State Park, where we have stayed before-  it's on the West shore of the Metro New Orleans area, but we did have to drive smack into downtown New Orleans to get here, Bette was not pleased.  But I did my usual fine driving and we got here without incident. 

On the way over, we stopped at the La Welcome Center at the state line on I-10, one of the nicest, cleanest welcome centers we've seen.  Other states should tour here to see how it's done.  Pleasant people inside, free coffee, spotless. 

 

No troubles getting into the campground, although it is still under construction, which it was the last time we were here in Feb of last year- this time the entrance station and the roads into the park-  have a nice 50 amp water space, next to the rest room. 

Lots of room between spaces, very quiet place.  Really like it here.  
Downtown is about 15 miles away-   May run over to Thibodaux from here, its a 60 mile one way trip, but may do it to get out and around.  Also on the list for New Orleans is a baseball from the New Orleans Zephyrs, and maybe a trip downtown.
