Out to Sandy Hook-

Left Hamilton this morning at about 0800 and headed on over to coastal NJ and went on up to Sandy Hook unit for Gateway NRA.  Beautiful part of the Jersey Shore I had never been to-  A lot of Sandy Hook was formerly a big Army base, a training center for the Women's Army Corps, then a Nike site to protect New York City-  there is also a big lighthouse there.

Got several stamps at the VC-  the Lighthouse society stamp at the light house was not available, since the tour was at 1 pm.  Next time.

Tomorrow, I've decided I'm going to head over to the Jamaica Bay Unit of Gateway, and hit the three visitor's center there, and also get the Theodore Roosevelt home at Sagamore Hill, in Oyster Bay, and then wind up with a visit to St Paul's Church in Mt Vernon.  That will give me a pretty complete Metro NYC visit for this year!
