I wound up making a wrong turn at Danville Braves, and we couldn't make a right hand turn to get to the stadium on the way out, too tight, so we went back across the highway to a rest area, unhooked, and got back to the stadium.
Even though the team doesn't begin its season until June 20, we were able to get a ball and a pin, plus a bonus league ball for free for Cooper, and a free Army T Shirt for me. Score.
Danville is the rookie league affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, and their field is very small capacity wise.
Now, I am totally disgusted and upset with Thousand Trails. This park also is now open to the public, which to me violates our membership- it is also a Passport America Park, The Ranger booth at both places was not manned, and this park has but 30 amp electrical throughout the park. There are signs on the property, no stay limits, build your cabin on a site, and so forth. I will be looking into this with an eye for a potential class action lawsuit, believe me.
We are still having trouble with Cooper's game console, and we also can't get the Sat recievers to lock on to a signal, even though the locator says it is locked on. May have to have that looked at by a knowledge person, it isn't me.
Cooper and I ran on down to Brookneal, Va. this afternoon to the Patrick Henry Home place, and National Monument, known as Red Hill. Very pretty and well done Visitor's Center, got the stamp and a pin.
The main house- Henry had 17 children over the years..... |
This was his lawyer's Office, located near the house place. |
The site stamp |
The pin for the site. |
We had originally thought we would get to Appamattox Court House NHS today, but we did not go, too long of a drive. Will do that later while we are here. Tomorrow is generally things over towards Roanake, and Cooper wants to go to the Baseball game tomorrow rather than Sunday- Have to see about that.
