Picture day for Coop's soccer team

Today was photo day for Cooper's soccer mates..
Bottom row, 4th from left..   Getting to be a big little man- in 6th grade this year.  Likes school and all of his teachers so far.  Seems to be making the adjustment to Middle School nicely.  Brandon likes his High School schedule also.

Busy night at the Football Jamboree last night, got to see several of my old coaching mates and Sheriff Foster as well- and a few of my old colleagues from Ware Shoals.

Ware Shoals lost to Newberry, Saluda beat Emerald on a last second field goal, and Greenwood just manhandled 96.

Greenwood High has installed over 2 MILLION dollars of improvements to its football field, paid for with tax money gathered from an additional penny sales tax.  It is WAY beyond comprehension that the school district would spend so extravagantly for such things.

I forgot my camera last night, but here's a shot from the local paper..

It was under construction then, but as you can see it has 4 levels.. there are even booster "luxury boxes"!  They also installed a large jumbotron score board- better than I've seen in many a minor league ballpark this summer.

2 million plus would have paid for a lot of teacher salaries, or other classroom equipment, rather than glorifying a high school football program, I do believe.

Rant over.

Working on the new Fall trip this weekend, Bette got back safely from Florida right on schedule at 1220, and I'm also working on Lander stuff the rest of the weekend.  It's bad hot for the next week, high 90's.  Ugh.
