Sunday, July 31st- Busy Saturday, and baseball today.

First, Brandon and I went on what was supposed to be a quick trip up to the Largest Truck Stop in the US, the I-80 truck stop.  I had heard about this before, and also noticed that they had a truck museum.

Problem was that on our way over, we got hoodooed by the big RAGBRAI bike tour, which is 15,000 people on bikes riding their way across Iowa...  We had been one or two days ahead of them most of the way across the state, but today we got caught.  They closed off several roads, because of the crowds of bikers, and everytime the GPS would try to have us loop back- and law enforcement was no help- they just vigorously signaled you to turn left and "take the detour".. We finally wound up going about 20 miles out of our way... and same thing happened on the way back..  Very frustrating.

Anyway,  we enjoyed the visit, and it truly is the largest truck stop I have ever seen.

Then we did get back to the coach, and then Bette and I headed off to the Quad Cities for a day of sites, visited a couple of visitor centers for pins, then got to the John Deere Pavilion, and gift shop.. very nice visit there...
From there, we got to a couple of Silo and Smokestack sites, Putnam Museum and the Iowa Children's museum....

Today, Brandon and I headed 60 miles up the road to see the Clinton LumberKings baseball game-  They are the A team for the Mariners.. Older stadium, built in 1937, we had good seats on first base dugout side-  sat in front of a nice family from Minneapolis, and got a ball which went to one of the daughters.....  Had a good time!

Tomorrow, we pull up and head to Metro Chicago area, staying at an Outdoor World at Belvidire, Ill, near Rockford.
